Khaki Boyfriend Pant Comparison - Vince vs. Current/Elliott

I love a good khaki pant in the spring/summer but I think it's hard to find "cool" khaki pants. I either have really old preppy J Crew type standard straight leg knakis or way too bootleg gap khakis. I wanted to find something a bit more sophisticated and modern. The boyfriend chino steps in... Finding the right amount of slouch is tricky and it has to fit in the waist or you'll just be hiking up your pants all day. Here are 2 options I tried out:

Vince Boyfriend Pant (size 2) or find here
The material on these is heaven. I am in love with most Vince clothing items. SOO expensive but also so slouchy in the right way. I got these at TJMaxx so it was less painful. The bunching in the crotch area is not so amazing but the line on these pants is so slim - in a good way. I don't think the photos really portray that. The dual hook and bar closure also dresses these up a bit.

Anthropologie Current/Elliot The Captain Trouser (size 0/25)
These definitely feel more casual to me. This is a size down from what I usually wear in denim (26). The crotch looks better on these but the leg is definitely less slim - more straight cut down from the hip instead of tapered over the hip and down the leg. On the other hand, I like the lack of buttons on the backside.

I don't know, I like both pairs and my instinct is to keep the Vince ones so I can wear them to work or in a more casual manner.

What do you think? Do you own a great pair of khakis?

  1. Definitely keep the Vince ones, they look cooler. I don't own a great pair, unfortunately. Where did you find the Vince ones?

  2. Another vote for the Vincent ones. They look like a much chicer version and look as if they fit better!
