The Perfect White Shirt

I've always wanted a nice, crisp white cotton shirt. It is one of those timeless pieces that is so simple yet keeps everything sophisticated and fresh. I love J Crew shirts. I can't help it - I'm a bit of an addict. I recently bought JC's boy shirt in white and while I love it, I do not love the price tag. So... I thought I would do a side by side comparison with the Lands End Canvas Heritage Poplin Shirt which is currently on sale for $19.99 plus 25% off if you use promotion code: SAVE25 with pin: 1231.

LEC Heritage Poplin Shirt in size 4

I have to say - seeing them side by side - there isn't much difference! The LEC shirt is slightly more fitted because it has some stretch to it. The JC Boy shirt looks slightly more modern and less dressy.

What do you think?

  1. They do look very similar. I agree that the JC looks less fitted and thus more relaxed. It's interesting that you sized up in the Lands End. I haven't bought anything from them in a long time because their items were always too big. I'll have to give them another chance. I'm curious how they'll each wear over time and repeated washings.
Thanks for the comparison. It's very helpful.

  2. They're very similar. It seems to be that way w/some LEC tops when compared to J Crew. The button downs, at least.

  3. Maryeb- LEC is weird with sizing. I can't even wear regular lands end tops because they run so large but LEC runs normal most of the time. It's kind of like JC that way. The items definitely feel well constructed though.

Gigi - I have generally found LEC button downs to run shorter in sleeve and length than JC but these two were very close. Hope the new little bambino is treating you well!
