Anthropologie Reviews - Yonina Mini-Dress, Otta Dress, Konza Dress, Celeste Pencil Skirt, AG Steve Straight

Went to make a quick return today and quickly tried on a few sale items that caught my eye. Returned my size small Scully Pencil Skirt - that skirt is oddly sized! Managed to grab an X-small which I will post reviews of when I get back from vacation.

Otta Dress (size 2)

This is an interesting dress. Fit was a bit off. The waist panel is nice because it helps give the dress an attractive shape but the top was a little big. Overall not super flattering and the colors are not great on me 

Celeste Striped Pencil Skirt (size 4)

I love Plenty by Tracy Reese clothes but I find that they run quite small. I would definitely want a size 6 in this skirt. The color is super cute but it did this weird bagging/folding thing in the front. Perhaps sizing up would fix that.

AG Stevie Straight (size 26 and size 27 respectively)

These jeans are great. Super sexy. I would almost classify them more as a jegging. I didn't detect a huge amount of difference between the size 26 and size 27. The size 27's were a little loose in the waist but looked a little better in the butt. Not sure how these stretch out. I think $164 is a lot for jeans but these are really cute.

Konza Dress (size 2)

I actually love this dress. Very easy breezy. The color is a bit blah but the details at the neckline are gorgeous. Wouldn't buy it at this price but would reconsider on 2nd cut.

Yonina Mini-Dress (size S) 

I noticed this dress right away when the catalogue came out. The colors are absolutely eye-catching and it is another easy throw-on-and-go type of dress. I would definitely want to try on an XS because the S was slightly baggy. The 100% polyester content is a real buzz kill, especially for the price! Again, on 2nd cut I would reconsider.

Anyone else scoop something up at the huge sale last week?

Anthropologie Reviews: Catch up! Suki Sleeveless Top and Converging Bits Skirt

I've had some photos sitting around for while, so today's post is a little random but here we go...

Rainforest Morning Shirtdress (size 2)

I bought this off the Effortless Anthropologie Exchange which I have always had wonderful experiences with. This dress is awesome! OMG. The colors, the fit, everything. It is slightly tight across the bust but I don't care, in fact I'm thinking a cami underneath might help. love love love.

 Water's Edge Skirt (size XS)

I grabbed this puppy on popback based on all the favorable reviews but I have to say, I'm not feeling it. It's very comfortable but it just sort of hangs straight down off the body. There is no flow to it so I kind of feel like I'm wearing sweatpants but in bright blue skirt form.

 Suki Sleeveless Top (size 4)

Leifsdottir has become one of my obsessions this year. This blouse is so lovely in so many way but the band at the bottom ruins it. Notice pregnant looking side view. Blech. I almost considered taking it the tailor and having the bottom hem taken off. Not for $50 though. Poo.

After fretting about what to pair my Tile-Quilted Pencil Skirt with I finally found this little LEC Cardi in my closet. I paired it with my Ever Present Satchel and Ivanka Trump Indicon high heels and voila! I felt pretty good!

This is the Adalar dress my Leifsdottir that I am constantly on the fence about. I paired it with my newly acquired Lemniscate Belt and I love the combination. A keeper?

Converging Bits Skirt (size 2)

This skirt is adorable and extremely well made for $30. Slightly poufy from the side but I didn't feel it ruined the look. I decided not to keep it since it's not really my style but I would highly recommend it to others.

Still waiting for my Scully Pencil Skirt to arrive. Bought the S but found an XS. Will compare and post pictures later this week!

Anthropologie Reviews - Palma Dress, Broken Pleats Skirt, Akin Tunic, Minutiae Dropwaist Dress, Carolinae Top, Paisley Moment Tank, and more!

Oopsies, I've been gone for a little while. I haven't entirely had the urge to shop and I keep on forgetting my camera, so no posts. Plus, the weather here has been gorgeous so all I really want to do is sit in the sun and sip a latte. Okay, maybe a margarita. Anyway - my Anthro obsession continues so here are some recent goodies...

Glowing Horizons Trench (size 4)

This little lovely was hiding in my sale section. Me lovey. I feel like a hot spy - which is a good thing. The details are so lovely. I took more pics at home so I will post them another time. The details are gorgeous. They didn't have a size 2 (my normal size) but I have a feeling I would have preferred the 4 anyway - gotta be able to move the arms.

Skipped Beats Blouse (size 2 or 4) 

Love the idea of this blouse and the cotton is crisp and delicious but the shape is blah de blah. And it's super short, which is saying a lot since I am short-waisted.

Hanalei Buttondown (size 2)

It seems that maybe this motif is sold out online so I linked to the strawberries version. It's a really nice blouse. I didn't realize it was 3/4 length sleeves. The fit is very flattering on the body and the colors are vibrant but not too much so.

Otsego Blouse (size 2) 

I do love me some peasant-y, eyelet, boho chic whatever but this is not good. Boxy mess on my body and the elastic waist did me no favors.

Paisley Moment Tank (size S)

I adore the idea of this tank but the fit is way off. There were no XS (with reason, I think the XS would probably fit everyone from XS - XL) left so I tried on a small. I am trying to show the armpits hanging way below where my actual armpits are. Hmm... Pretty print.

Draped Snail Tank in Pink (size 2) 

The snails are so cute! I knew just from looking at this shirt that it would not be good on a bigger busted lady like myself and I was right! 

Carolinae Top (size 2) 

What is with the cropped stuff this season? I don't want to have to wear a tank top under everything for fear of exposing my kanga-pooch. Please. Just make things full length. I was drawn to the print which is absolutely charming but it was too baggy.

Wagner Tunic (XS) 

I find tencel slightly creepy. Don't know why. It's a cute little shirt but didn't give me the look I was going for.

Minutiae Dropwaist Dress in Grey Motif (size 2) 

Surprisingly adorable. If I hadn't already had my fill of dropwaist dresses in the 80's I could almost go there. TTS and shockingly flattering. The sleeves were a bit too poufy for my taste, but still cute. 

Palma Dress (size 2) 

I tried this dress on when it first came out but wasn't in love. I think it's because I had the wrong size. This dress does fit EXACTLY but when I tried on the 4 months ago it bloused too much on top. This is the perfect amount of blousing, the waist is spot on and the skirt is perfect. The color is to die for.

Akin Tunic  (size XS)

Oh how I love shopping in the lounge section! Cute comfy stuff for a fraction of the price. This dress is darling. My only complaint is that the waist is supposed to be slightly dropped but I felt like it lay between dropwaist and normal making it seem slightly off. Still, on sale, I would grab it in a second.

Broken Pleats Skirt (size 4)

The reviews are true! This skirt runs TINY and the material is ridiculously thin. Bummer because it is a good price and sort of interesting and cute. I would at least need a 6 (2 sizes up from my norm) but didn't bother since the aforementioned transparency issue was a deal breaker.

Good sale this week. Anyone else pick up something?

Anthropologie Reviews - Lousada Heyhoe and others...

I've been trying to tone down my shopping in the new year but I can't help but wanting to constantly check the sale section at my Anthro store. There are always some random returns that are so tempting - love seeing some old items come back.

Leifsdottir Ombre Ikat Mini-Dress (size 4)

Oh, were I younger and in need of a sexy mini-dress with cutout shoulders... This was clearly a return and it is adorable. The 4 was a little big and the colors do not do anything for my skin but it's super comfy. The only weird thing is the shoulder - they pull where the cutouts are.

Askew Ikat Shift, Lousada Heyhoe, size XS 

I'm sort of regretting not buying this except for the fact that I need a silk dress like I need a hole in the head. I am absolutely IN LOVE with every one of Heyhoe's prints. Gorgeous! Like most of the reviews, I found the dress to fit slightly tight in the hips but not enough to size up.

Drafted Gardens Top size XS and Nubby Stripes Skirt (size 4)

I've seen this skirt on other bloggers and it is so cute. On me, it is a frumpy mess. Granted I definitely needed a 2 (it seems to run a bit big) but still. The pockets are awesome. 

Unequivocal Dress (size 6)

I tried on this dress in a size 4. It's amazing - beautiful retro shape. The 4 was a little tight in the tuckus but the 6 was gaping at the chest (which is unusual for my very-endowed self)

Pattern Call Blouse (size 4) and Conjuror Maxi Skirt (size 2)

 I look I just walked out of Hair or Little House on the Trippy Prairie. I've tried on both the size 2 and size 4 of this skirt and both are beautiful. I'm not sure I have room in my life for a silk maxi (I guarantee that within 2 minutes there would be greasy toddler hands all over it).

This blouse is a different story. I LOVE IT. The 4 is super roomy up top but a bit snug in the hips. I have a size 2 coming to me to compare but am afraid that it will be way too tight on the hips and better up top.

Stitched Spindles Coat (size 6) 

The colors are beautiful and waist-nipping band are great, but I found the overall fit a bit odd. The waist fit well while the rest felt a bit big. Perhaps a size 4 would be better?

 Drafted Gardens Top (XS)

 The top is totally fine but nothing exciting. Just a basic, cotton, slightly too expensive top.

Pale Borders Blouse (size 2)

Ah, pale borders blouse. Your colors, your adorable cap sleeves, your luxurious silk. I would have snapped this up but I can't figure out my size. The 4 looks baggy and lifeless but the 2 is too tight across my chest. Boo. Might have to take it to a tailor to see if she can work her magic. 

The 2nd cuts on the Heyhoe stuff were really tempting for me.  Did anyone take some home at the 2nd cut price?

Anthropologie Review - Leifsdottir Blouse

My latest obsession is Leifsdottir. I do think that their clothing is overpriced but I love how unique it is! With a closet full of staples, it has been fun to add a little whimsy to my wardrobe. I first noticed this blouse on the sale rack at my local Anthropologie but they only had a size 2 left and I always have to size up in Leifsdottir clothes.

If anyone knows the name of this blouse I would be so appreciative!  Thanks to a comment form Stefanie over at Roxy's fabulous Effortless Anthropologie blog who let me know that this is the Striated Silk Blouse!

Leifsdottir Blouse size 6 

I was in a rush when I spotted these in the sale section on a recent trip to NYC so I just grabbed both sizes. There isn't a huge amount of difference and both feel a little tight across the back but not much. The blouse is very loose and flowy but it drapes well thus avoiding the pregnant effect.

This is a close up of the lace detail. I think it is so interesting.

And the back... to die for. Clearly this needs a camisole (although if you have the ability to go braless I think that would be fine) or perhaps just a low cut black bra. Simple, elegant and a fun way to do a black blouse!
