Anthropologie's Tile-Quilted Pencil Skirt (Size 2)
Here it is paired with the Merino Boyfriend Sweatshirt from J Crew in Weathered Wood. I like the shapes but I don't think I love the color combo.
I thought maybe gold would be a nice neutral to go with it but I think it looks too washed out. This is the Metallic Scoopneck Sweater in Camel from Banana Republic.
I think yellow works pretty nicely but this sweater looks pretty dowdy. In fact, it went into the goodwill bin after I took this picture.
I'm really not sure how to work with the colors. Green on top might be too much with the bottom. Too beigy of a color looks blah.
Please help!
I like the pattern of your skirt. I don't like to dress it up much so if I wear a skirt, I would grab a sweatshirt type of top to "casual-it-out" ( is there such a phrase?ha). I just got a side button crewneck from Lands' End Canvas. If you're interested, please go to my blog to view.

Thanks, Small Town Gal - that is exactly the look I am going for since I don't work anywhere that is particularly fancy :)
ReplyDeleteI love that skirt and was debating on getting it myself. I think the pattern is striking.
ReplyDeleteHow about a navy or some dark shade of blue on top, the JC navy Jackie pullover for example. If you like orange, I think something like the Garment-dyed Burnout Sweater might be interesting. It has a bit of texture and the orange seems more subdued. Although, something like the vibrant flame Tippi might be cute. The shorter sleeves will be nice when Spring gets here.
I can also see it with a crisp white button down shirt and some accessories to tie in the color of the skirt.
Keep us posted on how you decide to style it. I'd love to see photos!
It could use a third color, so I agree that navy would be good. Still love this skirt. The mini came to my knees, so I got that in orange. Yay :)
